On April 08, 2021 I got my one shot of the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. It stung a bit when I first got the injection and then I had to be observed for 15 minutes but I didn’t feel anything during the observation and left soon afterwards. I got the above shown sticker and my vaccination card. I got hit by bad chills that night but felt fine by the next morning. I ended up going out shopping said next morning getting, among other things, a free Krispy Kreme donut with my vaccination card. A little after noon though, I started feeling sick and it just got progressively worse as the day dragged on. That night I got hit by a fever which broke in the early morning. It’s now Saturday evening and I’m feeling okay-ish. The horrible body aches and pain in my arm are gone along with the fever. I just have some nausea, redness at the injection site, and some slight pain in my upper arm.
I’ve had plenty of vaccines in my time but I’ve never reacted so strongly to one as this before that I can remember. Good thing this is a single dose vaccine! Still, I’m glad that I got it and will soon be protected against this virus. The doctor at the clinic said it would take two weeks for the vaccine to take full effect so I should continue to be cautious until then.
It’s better to feel like shit for a day than for weeks or worse! Get your own damn vaccination!!!
